Our survey (link below) includes responses from the lead tech executives of over 300 PE portfolio companies. The range of responses in title, role and compensation are telling. Some highlights:

  • The undeniable level of financial commitment CEOs and Boards of Directors have made to digital initiatives – IT spend has been growing at a better than 10% CAGR.

  • A disconnect between investors & tech leaders -- Many CIO/CDOs are unclear on how digital plays into their investor’s core investment thesis and few initiatives are held to a strict IRR/ROI scorecard.

  • CIO/CDOs are a mixed lot – some are commercially and operationally savvy, others do not yet have the broad business experience to sit at the table.
